Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. Written to be read, not skimmed past.

Last updated 30 September 2026

The short version

  • We collect only what’s needed to make, deliver and improve your Feelos.
  • We never sell your data or show ads.
  • Our analytics are our own: no cookies, no IP addresses, no message text.
  • Anyone with a Feelo’s link can open it, so share it only with who it’s for.
  • You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data any time: [email protected].

Who we are

Feelo (feelo.live) is a studio that turns what you feel into short, playable moments called Feelos, which you send to someone with a private link. In this policy, “Feelo”, “we” and “us” mean the Feelo service and the people who run it; “you” means anyone who uses it, whether you make a Feelo or receive one.

We are based in New Delhi, India, and handle personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under them. For anything in this policy, write to [email protected].

What we collect

Your account

Your email address, your password (stored only as a secure one-way hash, so we can never see it), the choices you make when you sign up, and when you joined.

What you put in a Feelo

The names, messages, memories, dates and choices you enter, and any photos you add. Photos are resized in your own browser before they’re uploaded, which also strips the location and camera details a phone stores inside a photo. You only add photos after confirming you have permission to share them.

What comes back from the person you sent it to

Their reaction or answer, a “feeling” they send, an optional short note, and any Feelo they make in reply. We also note when a Feelo is first opened, so its sender can see that it was.

Studio requests and support

If you ask for a custom Studio Feelo or contact us: your name, how to reach you, and what you tell us about the moment (the story, a date, a budget).

Reports

If you report a Feelo, the reason you pick and any note you add. We don’t record who sent a report.

How Feelo is used (our own analytics)

Which pages and steps are used, whether a demo is played, and how far a Feelo is watched. This is tied to a random ID kept in your browser, not to your name or email, plus the kind of device (for example “phone · Android · Instagram”). We don’t use cookies for this, we don’t store IP addresses, and we never record message text. If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal, we don’t collect these analytics, except the single, anonymous “opened” signal that lets a sender know their Feelo was seen.

Security and technical information

To keep Feelo safe (for example, to stop someone guessing passwords), our server briefly uses your IP address in memory. Our hosting and network providers keep standard technical logs, such as IP address, time and the page requested, for security and reliability.

How we use it

  • To create your account and keep you signed in.
  • To make, store and deliver your Feelos, and show you their responses and when they were opened.
  • To answer Studio requests and support messages.
  • To keep Feelo safe: prevent abuse, review reports, and remove content that breaks our Terms.
  • To understand what works and improve Feelo, using the analytics described above and, if you agreed at sign-up, anonymized information about how you use it.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

We process your data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you sign up or submit something, and for the legitimate uses the law allows, such as responding to legal requirements and keeping the service secure.

We don’t sell or rent your personal data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t hand your Feelos to others to train AI models.

Who can see what

  • Anyone with a Feelo’s link can open it, including its messages and photos. Links are long, random and kept out of search engines, but if a link is forwarded, whoever receives it can open it. Please don’t put anything in a Feelo you wouldn’t want seen by someone the link reaches.
  • The sender sees the responses to their Feelo (reaction, feeling, note, replies) and when it was first opened.
  • Our team can access data when needed to run Feelo, help with support, review reports and keep people safe. Team access needs a password and a second verification step.
  • Service providers who help us run Feelo, only on our instructions: DigitalOcean (servers and storage), Cloudflare (network security and delivery) and Google Fonts (your browser loads our fonts from Google).
  • Authorities, when the law requires it, for example under a court order or a lawful request from a government agency, or when needed to protect someone’s safety.
  • If Feelo is ever merged with or acquired by another business, your data would move with the service and stay protected by this policy.

Where your data is stored

Feelo runs on servers operated by DigitalOcean, which may be located outside India. We transfer data only as permitted under Indian law, and our providers are bound to protect it.

How long we keep it

  • Your account and Feelos: for as long as your account exists. When an account is deleted, we remove its data from our live systems within 30 days. Copies in our backups are overwritten on a rolling cycle, within a further 14 days.
  • Feelos removed after a report: kept out of view for up to 180 days where the law requires us to preserve them for investigation, then deleted.
  • Analytics: only as long as they’re useful to improve Feelo, and no longer than two years.
  • Studio requests and support messages: up to two years after our last conversation, unless we need them longer for a paid order or the law.

How we protect it

Every connection to Feelo is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. Our pages use strict browser security settings, our team’s access needs two-step verification, sign-in attempts are limited, and we keep daily backups. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affects your personal data, we’ll tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

Your rights and choices

Under Indian law you can:

  • ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
  • ask us to correct, complete or update it;
  • ask us to delete your account, your Feelos and your photos;
  • withdraw your consent at any time (as easily as you gave it), knowing we may then be unable to provide the service;
  • nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or can’t act for yourself;
  • raise a grievance with us, and if you’re not satisfied, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

To do any of this, email [email protected] from the email address on your account (so we know it’s you). We acknowledge requests within 24 hours and resolve them as soon as we can, within 15 days for grievances and within 30 days for other requests.

Children

Anyone can use Feelo, but if you’re under 18, you may use it only with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to this policy on your behalf. We don’t knowingly track children’s behaviour, target them with advertising or build profiles of them. If you’re a parent or guardian and believe your child’s data was shared without your consent, contact [email protected] and we’ll delete it.

Other people in your Feelos

When you add someone’s name, photos or memories to a Feelo, you confirm you have the right to share them with the person you’re sending it to. If a Feelo includes you and you’d like something removed, use the “report” link at the bottom of that Feelo or contact us.

Your browser’s storage

Feelo stores a few small things in your browser’s local storage so it works smoothly: your sign-in, the random analytics ID, which tips and tours you’ve already seen, and which responses you’ve already looked at. Clearing your browser’s data removes them. We don’t use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know on Feelo or by email before it takes effect.

Contact and grievances

For privacy questions, requests or grievances, email [email protected] with “Privacy” or “Grievance” in the subject. Feelo, New Delhi, India.
